Italy and especially Rome have held the imagination of artists and poets for centuries, and it is little wonder with its combination of culture, history and natural splendour. Because if this Italy is a popular holiday destination, but it can also be very expensive.
There are ways however to save money and then you will be able to stay a little longer. The first step in booking a relatively cheap holiday is to book in advance. Often there are amazing specials and if you keep an eye out for them you may just find one.
Some of these deals only take you to certain cities, you might end up in Sicily Villas for example or in a Tuscan Vineyard. If not the next step is to find the cities you would like to visit and then create an itinerary which gets you between the cities as cheaply as possible within your time limit.
A relatively inexpensive way of getting around Italy is by train. There is an extensive and well run railway network that can take you from one side of the country to the other.
The other way to get around cheaply is by car, and there are many rental agencies which can help you. The only down side of this is that parking in many of Italy's cities can be a complete nightmare.
