Welcome to rentals abroad

Our holiday homes provide solutions for independent travellers who wish to take things at their own pace and absorb authentic local culture but with the comforts of being back at home.

We have modern apartments in the centre of trendy urban scenes, and huge villas far from the madding crowd. We don't offer star ratings (though many of our homes are certainly 5-star plus). It's about personality, quality, charisma and a strong sense of place. Welcome to our world.

Our story

We started travelling in 1996 from Wellington, New Zealand, with our young kids for a short business venture in Laos. This adventure turned out to be too much fun to stop, so with a portable business at the time, the journey went on with stays in rural Tuscany, the South of France, Chicago, New York then to Rome where we set up a permanent household so the children could finish their education. During our journeys we often found ourselves in need of short-term apartment accommodation and came up against the same problems each time, websites that were hard to get around and agencies not attuned to the wishes of foreign tourists.

How we started the business

A few friends had suggested we find apartments for them in Rome when visiting and one of those friends suggested we go into the short-term apartment rental industry and construct for ourselves a website. We agreed it was the ideal business for us as we'd had so much experience as customers and were in the right place to begin.

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands with excellent perennial weather and much to do. Costa Adeje is an upmarket resort, with its low-key feeling you'll find a fantastic choice of five-star hotels and some great restaurants on the waterfront. Los Cristianos, once a fishing village, is now one of the islandís most loved resorts, perfect for families. There's a great selection of bars and restaurants and boat excursions every day from the port. At the north end of the island you can discover Puerto de la Cruz which is the oldest resort on the island. Tenerife has many areas with something to give everyone from glass-bottom boat trips and Aqua Parks to rides up to volcano El Tiede, Nature parks and wine tasting trips.

This islandís broad expanses of white beaches and coves situated amidst dramatic volcanic landscape provide a range of activities to keep the entire family entertained. Enjoy the fun range of watersports activities, trips to the National Park and walks along the beach. For exciting nightlife visit Puerto del Carmen. Costa Teguise is a great modern-family resort with a beautiful beach, a good selection of bars and restaurants and the islandís only golf course.
